koben

My son, Koben, just turned 9 at the end of October. Ever since he was born, he’s been a daddy’s boy. When he was very young, he would crawl to the window every day as I left work and cry as I would leave. Naturally, weekend trips to the skate park included Koben from a very young age. He goes with me pretty much everywhere to skate. When he cannot skate with Daddy, he’s finger boarding (tech decking) at home on my desk – usually right where my mouse needs to move around! ;-) Â He loves finger boarding because “it’s a lot safer” he says. When he was young he saw me have to go through knee reconstruction and it probably freaked him out a bit. Either way, Tech decks weren’t really around when I was coming up so I’m finding it really amazing to see what kids are doing on them these days. Check out this video below to see some stuff that truly defies the laws of physics and makes no sense if you ever tried to do this yourself. Koben spends hours a day practicing these lil’ tricks.

Wow that's nuts I remember when i was in jr high me and my buddies used to make finger boards out of paper clips if only i would have went the step further to make one like that i would be rich right now lol. Ive seen the decks in walmart before but i have never seen people using them like that vid.

Yeah. My son is starting to get some of those tricks down. I can't even get a finger board to ollie. Oh well. There's always the real deal. Thank God for useless wooden toys!

If you started him skating a young age, and he sticks with it, he could be the next Sheckler, ha, or maybe Mike Mo!
