It’s easy to over think when problem solving. In the video below, I never would’ve developed a world of cardboard skate ramps as a set and then shot it this way. My first thought would’ve been to build all the ramps and paint them green. Then, do a ton of post work to make it look as if they were skating on cardboard ramps. I don’t think that solution would be nearly as effective as what they have shot in-camera. Â Plus it would take some serious post-production time.) This is B-roll footage from a skateboard video competition held each year by Transworld. The sets are fantastic and the filming angles are great. Check out this video. I can’t help but appreciate how much was done in pre-production rather than post! Imagine trying to pull this off with CG.

  1. Learning to work smart/efficient is one of my big focuses right now! Problem solving is a HUGE asset to someone in the creative field, because we are always trying to do something that hasn't been done in this exact way before.
